Its been a year and we'll keep posting if you keep looking

So as many of you know we've been at this blog for some time now, exactly a year. This week was our 1st birthday and I hope everyone thus far has enjoyed our random posts, views and commentary on the skateboarding industry.  I mean who the fuck else is going to speak up about all the lame shit that surrounds the one thing that we all love.  We make this blog because we have a serious uncontrollable passion for skateboarding and when people fuck with it we make fun of them unmercifully.  So if you love skateboarding, just for skateboarding, then you are a friend of ours.  Thank you everyone for the support so far, don't give up on us, we'll keep posting if you keep looking. Bitches be crazy and soccer skateboarding

So what does soccer have to do with skateboarding? Absolutely nothing, so I had to find some reason to post this to our blog so I found some random kids playing soccer in there basement with their skateboards and took it from there.



That video was lame and those kids need to go outside and do something.  But this video of soccer field beat down is the real reason for the post because it is so gnarly and bitches be crazy!!

Greatest one hit wonder video part? What happened to Twuan?

Twuan's part from the Baker 3 video might be the greatest one hit wonder video parts ever. The dude had one part and fell off like nothing ever happened, but don't worry Twuan we remember. We want to see more of these parts, but my guess is that he might be finished with skateboarding.  Let enjoy this tasty gem from the past.

Ryan Sheckler promotes his Etnies shoe

We can't deny that Sheckler has some serious skill and I'll be the first to admit it. I would take Sheckler over Pudwill any day of the week.

The day has come! Crucial Fiction: The J. Casanova Tapes

So as many of you know in my earlier posts on J. Casanova, there was a trailer for an upcoming video called "Crucial Fiction: The Jereme Rogers Tapes" which he is being interviewed over the phone by Color Magazine. And guess what? The day has come. If you can seriously stand to listen to J. Casanova ramble on for 23 minutes and stare at photos of him than you are a better man than me. Enjoy!

Busenitz back noseblunts for a gnarly cover shot.

You can't deny that Dennis Busenitz is one of this generations best skateboarders, especially after seeing a trick like this.  He landed the cover of the May issue of Transworld Skateboarding with this insane back noseblunt-slide around the famous San Francisco spot, Third And Army.  Its nice to see a change of pace of covers for skateboard magazines because every time I look at a new cover there is either a giant rail, huge hubba or monstrous gap. Congratulations to Dennis and his cover will be on newsstands April 10th.

I think parents these days need to take more responsibility in making sure their kids are wearing helmets. This dad takes the initiative to show his son how bad it actually hurts when the back of your head smashes concrete. Way to go dad! Lesson learned.

Oh awesome, Torey Pudwill won Tampa Pro

Well I guess a bunch a shit happen while I was gone, but the most important event that occurred was the Tampa Pro contest. Watching most of the videos from the contest I was pretty stoked, like Chaz Ortiz's number 1 qualifying run, but once I saw that Torey Pudwill won, I couldn't wait to see what crap run he pulled outa his ass.



Yep just what I thought, crap. I think he does more walking around on the ramps than he did doing tricks. Now I don't like to dwell on the past, but I would just like to add that Dennis Busenitz won last year and had 18 tricks in his run, while this year Torey had a mere 8 tricks and 1 after the buzzer. How did Torey win again? Nobody knows, but anyways, congrats Torey on the win, after you pay out the judges you'll probably only have a couple hundred bucks left, what'cha goin to do with it?

Much respect to every other skateboarder who placed in the contest, you all got robbed and Busenitz always has my respect.

Oh well lets watch Busenitz run from last year and end on a good note.

P. Rod's got friends in high places, not just his dad

Not only does Paul Rodriguez have a famous comedian dad (Paul Rodriguez Sr.), which I'm sure didn't hurt to have that connection growing up,



but it also looks like he's getting some serious endorsement from the rapper NAS.  I mean the guy writes P. Rod a damn poam in the video, he must like him.

Are people intentionally trying to ruin skateboarding?

The answer is yes. It seems like these dumb fuckin ideas that are trying to ruin skateboarding just fall right into my hands. Once again I have found a product that quit possible takes the cake for being the most useless skate ruining product on the market. Lets take a look at the brand Rockboard. Not only do they have boards that have LED lights installed on them.......



......the most fuckin pointless fuckin thing ever, but they also have a board that looks like a damn tank.



God damn these are cool!

Anyone standing near those flips is goin to get their head kicked off.  As we know Lindsey Robertson has been the heelflip master for quite some time, but sorry Lindsey theres a new sherif in town.

Zoo York has some original marketing ideas!

Looks like Zoo York is taking their marketing to the next level. What better way to get some brand recognition by putting the recently published cover model of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, Kate Upton, in one of their videos. What an original idea! Nobody has ever thought of using sex to sell a brand......hhhmmm. Message to Zoo York team riders: get out while you can.

This first trick does not end well, oh my!

I started watching Tyler Price's part from The Denver Shop's video "Stakes Is High" and almost lost it when he annihilates his dome on the gnarliest frontside flip I've ever seen. It's official, Grant Taylor is gnarly!

Ok so, Grant Taylor is officially the gnarliest skateboarder.  After this SOTY OZ Tour video he is an instant legend and is in my top three.  Not to discount any of the other skateboarders in the video, because the whole video is just chock full o'hammers, fuckin hammer city. I will watch this video over and over and over again!!!

Barcelona has always been known for its spectacular skateboard spots.  The guys from Soma skate show off the cities wonder by shredding and grinding all over the skateable architecture.

God dammit there are more of these damn electric skateboards going on the market.  These two college frat bros invented some pressure sensitive electric skateboard called the Zboard that does what? Propels you forward without using any effort. Here is some dorky asshole from Yahoo talking about the Zboard and some of the other lazy mans transportation options. Seriously fuckin electric rollerblades? What the fuck.

Skateistan: To Live and Skate in Kabul

The Skateistan project was started to give skateboarding and educational lessons to kids in Kabul, Afghanistan and gives them the skills they need to lead their communities towards social change. XYZ Meet Your Maker circa 1997

XYZ was started by Danny Way and Tommy Caudill in the early 90's as a skateshop and mail-order company that eventually turned into a clothing brand.  The company ended in 2000, but they definitely left  a trail of awesomeness for everyone to enjoy.  Meet Your Maker was a promo video they made in '97 to promote the brand and when I saw it it blew my mind.  Here is part one of the promo check it out.

Greg Mike x Real Skateboards new board graphics

Artist Greg Mike collaborated with REAL skateboards on a new deck series and they're pretty rad. REAL also made a little video with Ramondetta highlighting the deck series.
